Day 1 Arrival in Taunton. Taunton to Meare Green 15 miles
This tour starts in the Somerset town of Taunton where in 1497 Perkin Warbeck seized the town and said he was King Richard IV. After collecting your bikes the cycling starts straight away to Meare Green.
Day 2 Meare Green to Somerton 28 miles
On the way to the ancient capital of Wessex, Somerton, you will have time to visit Barrington Court House and Gardens (National Trust). From here it is through pretty Somerset villages viewing cob and thatch houses before arriving at Somerton Court a 15th Century manor house, your accommodation for the night.

Day 3 Somerton to Bruton 19 miles
Following the South Somerset cycle route to Castle Cary with time to visit the town it is then on to Bruton. Stay the night at Gants Mill, an ancient water mill still in use today. The owners will give you a personal conducted tour of the mill and its history.
Day 4 Bruton to Sherborne 25 miles
From Bruton you pass through a number of lovely Somerset villages such as Pitcombe, Shepton Montague, Blackford, Compton Pauncefoot, Sutton Montis, Corton Denham, Sandford Orcas then cross the border into Dorset and Sherborne.
Day 5 Sherborne to Piddlehinton 22 miles
Leave Sherborne, after visiting the abbey church with its delicate fan vaulting and stained glass windows, down a valley visiting Minterne Magna and the gardens then on to Cerne Abbas. View the Cerne Giant then on to Piddlehinton staying for two nights at a local bed and breakfast.
Day 6 Piddlehinton to Wareham to Piddlehinton 25 miles
The choice is yours for either a rest day or a local circular route down to Wareham and back.
Day 7 Piddlehinton to Station
For your final day you will be collected from your accommodation and taken to the local train station (Either Yeovil or Dorchester).
