Daily Itinerary
 

Day 1 Arrive at Beaune

Arrival in Beaune, uncontested wine capital of Burgundy and also one of the most exquisite French towns, source of art and history. Do not miss the famous Hotel-Dieu and the wine museum of Burgundy.

Day 2 Circular ride from Beaune 35 miles.

Excursion to discover the famous area "Côte de Nuits"known for the "Grands Vins de Bourgogne" and more especially the red wines. You will also discover famous sights such as the Château du Clos Vougeot, and the town of Nuits Saint Georges or the château of Gevrey Chambertin.

Day 3 Beaune to Châteauneuf 24 miles

Still passing through famous vineyards you will reach the " Ouche Valley ". Then cross the Burgundy canal to finally reach Châteauneuf, an old picturesque village protected by a 12th - 15th century château.

Chateau de ChateauneufDay 4 Châteauneuf to Autun 33 miles.

Today you ride via Arnay le Duc and its charming medieval centre to Autun, founded by Augustus, where Roman remains such as the Arroux Gate, the St André Gate and the Theatre (the largest one built in Gaul) are an impressive reminder of the past. Napoléon Bonaparte was a student in the school of Autun.

Day 5 Autun to Nolay 27 miles.

A journey via the Renaissance château of Sully and the town of Epinac before joining the vineyards. Stay in Nolay, a charming town with a beautiful 15th century covered market, edged with the “Haute Côte de Beaune” vineyards.

Day 6 Circular ride from Nolay 36 miles.

This circular route brings you from famous vineyards (such as Mercurey) to wines cellars to taste and appreciate the delicate wines of Burgundy! You will also cycle on the peaceful ‘Voie verte’ cycling path along the river and the ‘Canal du Centre’ back to Nolay.

Day 7 Nolay to Beaune 20 miles.

This last stage passing via the Château of Rochepot (a magnificent 13th and 15th century fortress with roofs of glazed tiles) will bring you though the “Cote de Beaune” vineyards and all the prestigious white wines for your last Burgundy delight!
