Day 1 Arrival in Constance
Individual arrival to Constance where you enjoy the old town centre, visit Mainau, the island of flowers, or the monastery island Reichenau.
Day 2 Constance - Stein am Rhein/surroundings 19 miles.
Through picturesque towns and villages the route leads you along the Untersee into Stein am Rhein. Here you have time to visit the medieval small town with its beautiful community centres. If you have the energy it is possible to take an excursion to Schaffhausen (app. 26 km away), which is famous because of the "Rheinfall", the most powerful waterfall of Europe, and the fortress Munot.
Day 3 Stein am Rhein to Radolfzell/Ludwigshafen 25 to 31 miles.
From Stein am Rhein you cycle over the border to Oehningen and later over the peninsula Hoeri to Radolfzell, with its cathedral dating from the late gothic. The peninsula Mettnau is one of the largest protected areas of Lake Constance. Over Ludwigshafen and Sipplingen you reach Überlingen, with its lovely old town centre and the beautiful promenade.
Day 4 Radolfzell/Ludwigshafen to Friedrichshafen or surrounding area 19 to 31 miles.
Past the monastic church of Birnau and the pile dwelling houses in Uhldingen the route leads you to the charming town of Meersburg. You will pass the castle of Kirchberg and the sleepy village of Immenstaad before you reach Friedrichshafen, where you can visit the Zeppelin museum. 19 to 31 miles
Day 5 Friedrichshafen to Lindau or Bregenz 13 to 32 miles
From Friedrichshafen the route leads along the shore through picturesque places such as Eriskirch, Langenargen and Kressbronn. You pass Wasserburg on your way to the Bavarian town of Lindau, with the old part of the town lying on an island. At Bregenz you can stroll through the old part of town or we highly recommend taking the cable car to the top of Pfänder Mountain, especially on a clear day. Alternatively you can make an excursion starting from Friedrichshafen to visit the baroque castle of the Count Montfort in Tettnang. You pass small lakes and hop fields before you reach Lake Constance at Kressbronn again.

Day 6 Lindau/Bregenz to Rorschach 6 to 31 miles.
Through the protected area of the Rhine delta, the largest fresh water delta of Europe, you reach Rheineck/Buriet, a small town on the Old Rhine. The next stop of your journey is the old port Rorschach with probably the most beautiful grain house of Switzerland, which these days houses a museum.
Day 7 Rorschach to Constance 16 to 25 miles.
The last cycling day is in the Swiss canton of Thurgau with its small, well-maintained villages and typical timber-framed houses. The Lake Constance bike path brings you to Kreuzlingen and then back to Constance. The rented bikes have to be returned by 05.30 p.m.
