Daily Itinerary

Day 1: (Saturday): Arrival at Olympic Riviera.

After arrival at Thessaloniki Airport you’ll make your way to your hotel at the Olympic Riviera. There you will meet your bike guides who will give you a first introduction and information about the cycling holiday.

Day 2: (Sunday): Circular ride from Platamonas, 28 miles (45km).

The first day of biking will be at Platamonas, passing Mesagala and following along the Pinios River towards the sea. Looking back you can enjoy the impressive sight of the Tembi Valley Ravine and the Kissavos Mountains. You’ll ride to the beach where the Pinios flows into the sea and Greek fisherman dock their boats. The plants and animals in this fascinating river delta are unique. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the sea. As you continue along under the shadow of Mount Olympus, you’ll follow the coastline to your hotel.
Biking Time: 4 ½ hrs

Day 3: (Monday): The high Plateau of Kallipefki (Kato Olympus), 30 miles (48km).

The journey begins on the imposing high plateau of Kallipefki, the former location of a mountain lake. You’ll pass this plateau to cycle on the opposite hills and then take in the fantastic view of the Olympic Mountain range and its highest summits, as well as the Kallipefki Plateau. Along the way you’ll pass by old chestnut, spruce and fir trees until you get to the ancient mountain village of Paleos Panteleimonas. This village offers a marvellous view of the Aegean Sea, Mount Olympus and the old castle of Platamonas. After a coffee break in the old Kafenion of the village, you’ll travel to the mountain village Paleos Porus.
Biking Time: 4 hrs

Day 4: (Tuesday): Relaxation day.

Take the day to relax or perhaps take a day trip or try a new sport, which can be arranged with us on location.

Day 5: (Wednesday): Kranya – Kallipefki - Platamonas, 28 miles (45km).

This stretch begins in the old village of Krania and has you cycling south, on dirt paths to cross the idyllic plateau to Kallipefki. Along the way, you’ll pass by sheep farms until you cross a stream and head up to the mountain ridge of Vissarion, the highest point of today’s ride. Finally going back downhill you’ll end in Platamonas.
Biking Time: 4 hrs

Day 6 (Thursday): The castle of Platamonas and the historical Dion, 31 miles (50km).

On our route today, we will visit the 12th century Castle of Platamonas. After a circuit through the castle we’ll bike to the coast along the face of Mount Olympus to the historical village, Dion, where the first Olympic plays of the antiquity took place. You can also visit the archaeological excavations and the museum here. The next stretch takes you to the quintessential Greek Villages, Vrondu and Lofos and after you will cycle alongside the River Pelekas until you reach tonight’s tranquil rest point, Platanodasos, shaded by sycamores.
Biking Time: 6 hrs

Day 7 (Friday): Platamos to Litohoro to Platamonas, 28 miles (45km).

Today you’ll bike along the Olympic Riviera and you can take in the sea and the Mountain of the Gods, Olympus. You’ll ride as far as Litohoro where you’ll take a short break, before returning down to Platamonas.
Biking Time: 3 – 4 hrs
