Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Veere.

Arrive in Veere, a small picturesque town with a rich history. Stroll along the quayside and around the market square and imagine yourself back in earlier times. Veere is the perfect place to relax completely.

Cycling in HollandDay 2 Circular tour from Veere 31 miles.

The coastal-tracks through the dunes take you to the idyllic town of Domburg, the most popular resort in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The coast of ‘Walcheren’ has wide beaches and offers magnificent views over the sea. Once you have past the characteristic peaceful village of Westkapelle, you will cycle along the Westerschelde, the passageway to the ports of Vlissingen and Antwerp. From Vlissingen the country lanes take you back to Veere.

Day 3 Circular tour from Veere 37 miles

Ride along the most impressive Delta work, the ‘Oosterscheldekering’. This 9 km long storm barrier is the largest of the 13 ambitious Delta works series of dams, designed to protect a large part of the Netherlands from flooding. Next, you cycle through the dunes at Burgh Haamstede and Renesse. On the way back you can spend a few hours at the artificial island Neeltje-Jans, walk through the inside of the storm surge barrier and enjoy a taste of some real Zeeland specialities or pancakes!

Day 4 Circular tour from Veere 34 miles

First stop is the ancient hanseatic town of Goes. The charming town harbour and the ramparts around the centre still bear witness to a glorious past. From Goes you travel east into the orchards of the lovely village of Kloetinge. Further west the route takes you over narrow country roads to the capital of Zeeland: Middelburg, where you can experience the culture and the historic beauty in many ways. Cycling through the ancient streets and small squares makes Middelburg an experience you will never forget.

Day 5 Departure after breakfast.
