Daily Itinerary
 

Day 1: Arrive Cagliari

Arrival in Cagliari and transfer to Barumini, a small town towards the centre, famous for the most well-known nuraghe of the island. Welcome meeting.

Day 2: Cagliari to Laconi, 25 miles (40km)

Today you visit the majestic fortress of Barumini and the plateau of Giara di Gesturi from where you can enjoy the landscape of this area of central Sardinia. After a climb you arrive in Laconi where you can visit the museum of the Menhirs, the park and the ruins of the castle that belonged to the marquis of Aymerich.

Day 3: Laconi to Seui, 39 miles (62km)

This is probably the most challenging day. Leaving Laconi and after a reasonable climb uphill, you arrive at the passes of Ortuabis and Sa Casa. Then the track will be downhill all the way to Seui, a small town in the Ogliastra region on the side of a mountain The landscape of Barbargia is unique and scarcely visited by tourists.In Seui, you have the possibility to visit the museum of peasant traditions.

Day 4: Seui to Jerzu, 27 miles (43km)

Leaving Seui, you cycle through remote countryside on quiet roads. You’ll pass the natural oasis of Montarbiu and the lunar landscapes of the Valley of Taquisara until you reach Jerzu, a town renowned for its excellent Cannonau wine.

Day 5: Jerzu to Costarei, 30 miles (48km)

Finally the sea! From Jerzu, in the heart of Ogliastra, you’ll head up to Perdasdefogu (meaning Stones of Fire) and then to Escalaplano, before reaching Ballao. Then you’ll be transferred to Costarei, a beautiful seaside resort on the island’s southeast coast.

Day 6: Rest day or circular ride from Costarei, 18 miles (28km)

A rest day after the climbing of the previous days. The sea is just a few metres from the hotel. Or visit the beautiful beaches and places near Costarei.

Day 7: Costarei to Villasimius, 13 miles (21km)

Following the coast from Costarei to Villasimius you cannot miss a visit to the inlets of Cala Sinzias and Cala Pira. On reaching Villasimius you’ll find the beach close to the hotel or you can visit the fascinating beach of Porto Giunco .

Day 8: Departure from Villasimius after breakfast
