Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Cagliari.

Arrival in Cagliari and transfer to Barumini, a small town towards the centre, famous for the most well-known nuraghe of the island. Welcome meeting.

Day 2 Cagliari to Laconi 31 miles.

Today you visit the majestic fortress of Barumini and the plateau of Giara di Gesturi from where you can enjoy the landscape of this area of central Sardinia. After a slight climb, you arrive in Laconi where you can visit the museum of the Menhirs, the park and the ruins of the castle that belonged to the marquis of Aymerich.

Day 3 Laconi to Seulo 34 miles.

Leaving Laconi and after some kilometres uphill, you arrive at the passes of Ortuabis and Sa Casa. Then the track will be downhill all the way to Seulo. The landscape of Barbargia is unique and scarcely visited by tourists.

Day 4 Seulo to Jerzu 28 miles.

This is maybe the most demanding day. Leaving Seulo, you cycle through remote countryside on quiet roads. In Seui, you have the possibility to stop and visit the museum of peasant traditions. Then its on towards Jerzu.

Day 5 Jerzu to Costarei 33 miles.

Finally the sea! From Jerzu, in the heart of Ogliastra, you’ll reach Ballao where you’ll be transferred to Costarei, a beautiful seaside resort on the island’s southeast coast.

Day 6 Rest day or circular ride from Costarei 22 miles.

A rest day after the climbing of the previous days. The sea is just a few metres from the hotel. Or visit the beautiful beaches and places near Costarei.

Day 7 Costarei to Villasimius 19 miles.

Following the coast from Costarei to Villasimius you cannot miss a visit to the inlets of Cala Sinzias and Cala Pira. On reaching Villasimius you’ll find the beach close to the hotel or you can visit the fascinating beach of Porto Giunco .

Day 8 Departure from Villasimius after breakfast.
