Pearls of Slovenia

Freedom Holiday Self Guided Grading Level 3
8 days/7 nights Price - £560pp Tour Code SL001

During this week you will be cycling through some of the most scenic parts of Slovenia. Visits to Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj and the ski resort of Kranjska Gora are just some of the picturesque places you pass while biking through Carniola – the northwest of Slovenia.

You arrive in Bled, the world famous town on the shore of a glacial lake with its mighty castle on the rock above the town. The first days cycling starts with a bus transfer to the Pokljuka high plateau and from here you descend to the Bohinj valley, a place of unique beauty with tiny villages set in an Alpine valley. Through a deep forest and a slow climb to the Jelovica plateau you come to the village of Sorica. This tiny village nestles in the heart of the hills and is birthplace to one of Slovenias most famous painters. The hotel in Preddvor is set on the shore of a small lake and on the way you may like to stop at a village inn and try the local trout. The route provides fantastic vistas of the Julian Alps, Karawanke Range and the Stone Alps. If time permits you may like to visit the Vintgar gorge in Triglav national park
