Shropshire, on the Welsh borderlands, is one of England's three remaining rural idylls and as counties go, is certainly one of the loveliest. Wild landscapes and turbulent history. The stuff of myths and legends. These have inspired the poetry of A.E. Housman A Shropshire Lad and Wilfred Owen, the novels of Mary Webb and D. H. Lawrence and the children's books by Malcolm Saville The Lone Piners and many others besides.

Shropshire may be one of England's quiet counties, but don't be deceived, there's still plenty to see and do. Shropshire has over 90 places to visit - historic houses and castles with beautiful gardens, the famous Ironbridge, museums and family attractions.
For these cycle tours in Shropshire, some of which extend down into neighbouring Herefordshire, we work closely with a local firm to bring you the best-researched routes and accommodation and up-to-the-minute information on local events.
All of these tours start and finish in the Teme Valley just outside the historic town of Ludlow. You will need to arrive by lunchtime at the latest on the first day to give yourself enough time to cycle to the first night's destination - with the exception of the Weekend Special. Depending on how far you are travelling you might, as an optional extra, like to book accommodation for the night before. You can either indicate this on the booking form or, if you are not sure, give us a call to discuss.
